I know you're really here for the pictures, but I'm gonna make you read some stuff first.
As you may know, we have been going through some unseasonably warm weather these past few days--and it promises to continue through Sunday. Everywhere I look, people are wilty, droopy and uncomfortable. But for me, this is summer. I grew up (mostly) in Arlington, VA where 90 weather is normal for all of July and August, and parts of June and September. For me, summer is about being hot & sticky. It's about relishing those moments spent in the water, be it a pool or a creek. It's about drinking gallons of kool-aid, and sucking all the flavor out of popsicles until you're left with ice on a stick. It's sleeping with a fan inches away because Mom doesn't turn on the a/c until the thermometer reads 100. It's cooking & eating outside because the house is too hot.
These are the things that make you really appreciate the cool breezes of Fall.
